Bertrand has been a member of the Open Transport Committee for 10 years and presented his journey in open source software development in the field of transportation. He discussed the benefits of open source software and open data commons, and how they could contribute to decarbonizing our trips and ensuring more sustainable and inclusive mobility. Bertrand shared his experience of working on the open source project called Navicia, which was initially proprietary software until they opened its source code and API to the public. He also talked about his efforts to organize various events and meetups with the aim of sharing ideas and promoting open transport across different countries. During the Q&A session, Bertrand discussed the challenges of making private companies cooperate when providing open data, as well as the difficulty of getting governments to publish data in a timely manner.
